FoxyRising is a free retro arcade climbing game you play right in your browser, on a phone, tablet or computer. There’s nothing to download and no account needed. Climb alone, or race up to five other foxes in a multiplayer room. A crow has taken over the treetops and is rolling acorns down the branches; guide a brave fox up the tree, jump the acorns and beetles, and bring the lost fox kit home.
How to play
- Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD to walk and climb, Space to jump, P to pause.
- Touch: drag on the round pad to walk, push up or down at a vine to climb, and tap Jump. Hold a diagonal to grab a vine while walking.
- Snapped vines can’t be climbed, so look for another way up.
- Reach the fox kit at the top before the bonus timer runs out.
Three trees to climb
- Old Oak: learn the ropes while acorns roll down the sloping branches.
- Windy Pine: beetles patrol the branches and some vines have snapped.
- Hollow Elm: broken branches leave gaps you have to jump across.
After the Hollow Elm the trees repeat, faster each time: acorns roll quicker, the crow throws more often and beetles keep speeding up. How high can you go?
Scoring
- Jump over an acorn or beetle: 100 points.
- Grab an oak club and smash them: 300 points.
- Rescue the kit and keep whatever is left of the bonus timer.
Global leaderboard
Every best score goes on the worldwide leaderboard with the player’s city and country. Play as Anonymous, or pick a nickname with a passcode so it stays yours on any device.
Multiplayer rooms
- Solo climb: your own tree. Nobody else can join.
- Multiplayer: jump into a public room with up to 6 foxes from anywhere. Random players can join you.
- Create room: get a 6-digit room number and a link to share. Only people with the number can join.
- Join room: type a friend’s room number, or just open the link they sent.
Everyone climbs the same tree at the same time, with the same acorns and beetles. Each fox has its own coat color and its name above its head.
How points work in multiplayer
- Reach the top first: you win the round and keep the whole bonus timer.
- Everyone else still in the match: gets 5% of the winner’s bonus.
- Jump an acorn or beetle for 100 and smash one with an oak club for 300, just like solo.
- The oak club is the only way to hurt another fox. A hit knocks them out (they lose a life) and earns you 500. Foxes just pass through each other otherwise, and a fox that respawns is shielded for three seconds.
- Only survivors move on. When a fox runs out of lives it’s out for the rest of the match and can watch and chat. After a win, the surviving crew moves to the next tree together.
- If nobody reaches the top before the bonus runs out, the round restarts on the same tree. When every fox is out, a new match starts from level 1.
- Your total goes on the global leaderboard just like a solo run.
Room chat
Rooms have a text chat (no voice) for players 13 and older, and messages also pop up above your fox. Links are blocked and messages are limited to one a second. Be kind, and never share personal details like your real name, school or address.

Can I play with friends?
Yes. Press Create room, then Share to send your friends the link or the 6-digit room number. Up to 6 foxes can climb together.
Is FoxyRising free?
Yes. FoxyRising is completely free to play, supported by ads shown around the game.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablets, Windows, Mac and Chromebook, with on-screen touch controls on mobile. You can also add it to your home screen.
Do I need an account?
No. Just press Start to play as Anonymous. A nickname and passcode are optional and only used for the leaderboard.
How many levels are there?
There are three trees, and they loop with rising difficulty, so there’s no final level. The leaderboard shows the level each player reached.
